Oeke Hoogendijk (1961) is een internationaal gelauwerde documentairemaker. Zij studeerde toneelregie aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht (1990) en debuteerde in 1998 met haar eerste filmdocumentaire: Een gelukkige tijd (1998), deze werd bekroond met de Nederlandse Academy Award ‘Het Gouden Beeld’ 1998 en de ‘Euro-Comenius Award’ in Wenen (1999).
Haar tweede film, The Holocaust Experience (2002), ging in première tijdens IDFA (2002) en werd geselecteerd voor verscheidene festivals in Europa en de V.S.
Hoogendijk volgde ruim 10 jaar lang de grootschalige verbouwing en herinrichting van het wereldberoemde Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Met dit materiaal maakte zij een vierdelige televisieserie Het Nieuwe Rijksmuseum (Deel 1 en 2 in 2008, deel 3 en 4 in 2013) en de lange bioscoopfilm Het Nieuwe Rijksmuseum (2014).
Voor deze film ontving Hoogendijk een groot aantal binnen en buitenlandse prijzen, waaronder een Gouden Kalf op het Nederlands Film Festival, de Prix D’Italia, de Prix du Meilleur Documentaire op het Festival International du Film Montreal en Best Dutch Documentary IDFA 2014.
Hoogendijks specialiteit is documentaires over kunst. Vaak zijn het langlopende projecten met een cinematografische aanpak waarbij de inhoud zoveel mogelijk gevangen wordt in scenes.
Momenteel werkt Hoogendijk aan meerdere films; de avondvullende documentaire Licht (Witfilm) , over de unieke Holland Festival-productie waarbij de megalomane operacyclus van Stockhausen werd uitgevoerd onder leiding van Pierre Audi;
De Schatten van de Krim (Zeppers film) over hoe een eeuwenoude museumcollectie het middelpunt werd van een grote mondiale politieke discussie, en Operatie Nachtwacht (Discours Film) over de grootschalige restauratie van het schilderij De Nachtwacht van Rembrandt.

BIOGRAPHY
Oeke Hoogendijk (1961) is an internationally acclaimed documentary maker. She studied stage direction at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht (1990) and made her debut with her film documentary The Saved (1998), which won the Dutch Academy Award “Het Gouden Beeld” of 1998 and the “Euro-Comenius Award” in Vienna (1999).
Her second film, The Holocaust Experience (2002), had its premiere during IDFA 2002 and was selected for several festivals in Europe and the US.
Over a period of ten years Hoogendijk followed the large-scale renovation and reorganisation of the world-famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. She turned this material into a four-episode television series The New Rijksmusuem (Episodes 1 and 2 in 2008 and episode 3 and 4 in 2013) and a long film for the big screen The New Rijksmusuem (2014).
For this film she received a large number of prizes in the Netherlands and abroad, including the Golden Calf at the Netherlands Film Festival, the Prix D’Italia and the Prix du Meilleur Documentaire at the Festival International du Film Montreal, and Best Dutch Documentary at IDFA 2014.
Hoogendijk specializes in documentaries about art. They are often long-running projects with a cinematographic approach that involves capturing the content as much as possible in scenes.
At present Hoogendijk is working on the full-length documentary Light (Witfilm) about the unique Holland Festival Production during which this megalomaniac opera cycle by Stockhausen was performed under the baton of Pierre Audi; De Schatten van de Krim [The treasures of the Crimea] (Zeppers film) about about how a centuries-old museum collection of artefacts from long lost civilizations became a focal point in one of the world’s major political controversies today;; and Operatie Nachtwacht [Operation Night Watch] (Discours Film) about the large-scale restoration of The Night Watch.
